We are a dynamic and growing business located in San Mateo. We proactively seek to build our client base through a dedicated business development effort, leveraging our relationships with clients, attorneys, accountants, broker/dealers and other centers of influence (“COIs”). Managing this effort requires energy, responsiveness and organization.
Our Business Development (“BD”) team is seeking a highly competent and energetic individual to serve as Associate. This team member will support our senior BD professionals in their efforts with prospective new clients, provide organization to the overall sales effort through pipeline reports, and build a relationship with key COIs who provide us with referrals. There will be a significant administrative element to this position with an opportunity for more senior responsibilities with the firm. The ideal candidate is someone who is able to build strong partnerships and relationships, and is looking for personal and professional growth and an opportunity for advancement.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Track and report efforts of Business Development group against metrics, and support
senior BD group professionals.
- Develop and maintain library of marketing materials and prepare sales packages for
meetings with prospects.
- Serve as interface between Golub Group and COIs who refer their clients to the firm:
- Build deep relationships by conversing with them by email and/or phone and
meeting with them on a regular basis.
- Gather relevant financial data from COIs for prospective clients and establish
preliminary views as to their investment objectives.
- Periodically attend prospective client meetings with BD group professionals.
- Facilitate transition from prospect to managed client:
- Assign relationship to appropriate relationship/service professional in the
firm’s Private Client Group,
- Convey key information on client financial situation and objectives.
- Manage prospect / client events in coordination with outside vendors.
OTHER EXPECTATIONS:
- Become a trusted partner to our COIs.
- Always seek better and more qualified referrals by effectively representing Golub Group’s
investment philosophy, broad financial advisory capabilities and service excellence.
- Become an integral part of the BD process and seek constant personal and
professional improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1 to 3 years experience in the financial services industry in a position requiring personal
interaction with clients and/or business partners.
- Highly organized; strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multi task and prioritize.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment as needed.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in one or more foreign languages preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Salesforce knowledge a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
